Dr. Andreas Bänziger, Chairman of the Board

Andreas Bänziger graduated from the University of Zurich, Switzerland with a degree in medicine and a post doctorate specialising in orthopaedic surgery FMH. He held several management positions at a leading manufacturer of medical devices in Switzerland, amongst them Executive Vice President for a business unit. From 1999 to 2001 he was CEO of a private Swiss biotech company and in 2002 he became Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of HMT Holding. He was part of the Management Buy-out of the HMT group in 2002 and the merger with the HealthTroncis group in 2004. Dr. Bänziger is Cofounder and partner of MedWork AG and holds several board seats.

 

Urs Kamber, Member of the Board of Directors

Urs Kamber holds a Swiss CPA degree from Balsthal, Switzerland and has a strong background in finance. He has held various senior management positions; in particular, he has worked extensively in the USA as representative of Ascom and in Central/ Eastern Europe as CFO of Czech Telecom and as executive or Board member of other companies in this region. Subsequently, as member of the executive management team, he played an essential role in the turn-around, the settlement of the product litigation in the USA and the following sale of Centerpulse, formerly Sulzer Medica. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of London / Prague listed Zentiva a.s. in Prague and of London listed A&D Pharma in Bucharest. Additionally, he is the majority owner of ADAX S.A. in Bevaix, Switzerland.

 

Dr. Gerd Meyer, Member of the Board of Directors

Gerd Meyer graduated as Dr. oec. from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. Beginning his career as a lecturer at the University of St. Gallen and the Management Center Europe in Brussels, he worked as a consultant for the Swiss Government and the Swiss Council for Research in Bern. He also was a board member of the Airogroup Corporation, USA. He held various senior positions at Novartis Pharma, Basel, in Project and Product Management, Marketing Research, Trademarks and Strategic Planning. As head of the Prescription and OTC Business Unit in Bern, as Pharma Marketing head in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and as head of Global Partnering for General Medicine and Mature Products at Novartis Pharma in Basel, Switzerland he gathered a wide experience in the life science industry
 

Dr. Anders Weber, Member of the Board of Directors

Anders Weber holds a Ph.D. in Immunology from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University of Copenhagen, and he has performed his post doctorate studies on optical immunosensors at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and the Biotechnology Centre in Pittsburgh. He started his industri-al career as Development Engineer at Radiometer A/S in Copenhagen as part of a team developing amperometric glucose and lactate sensors and subsequently headed the advanced Sensors Devel-opment Unit. In various capacities, he initiated and managed 12 start-up companies on behalf of Da-nish Development Finance Corporation and other investors. 

 

Dr. Russ Potts, Member of the Board of Directors

Russ Potts holds a PhD in Biochemistry. He worked at Pfizer on transdermal drug delivery and at Cygnus as Vice President R&D until 2002. Cygnus developed the first FDA-approved, minimally-invasive, continuous glucose monitor “Glucowatch”. At Cygnus his responsibilities included FDA tech-nical liaison & fund raising, with strategic as well as technical input. Today he is a consultant for drug delivery and glucose monitoring devices. His role at Solianis will include technical and patent support, recommendations for the approach to the FDA and strategic planning.

 

Mario Stark, Chief Executive Officer

Mario Stark was previously Executive Vice President Marketing & Product Management at Centerpulse Orthopedics. He has worked in the medical device industry in a variety of international positions, gaining expertise in defining marketing strategy, bringing together organizations and managing innovative product lines. He has a wide management experience ranging from Marketing over Process Management, IT, Consulting to Human Resources.

 

Dr. Andreas Caduff, Chief Technology Officer

Andreas Caduff has a BSc degree in chemistry, an MSc degree in biotechnology and a PhD in biophysics/biosensors. He has been a driving force in the industrial development of non-invasive sensor technology for physiological monitoring, in particular glucose monitoring techniques and involved physiological processes, combining the expertise in various fields relevant to the research and development Solianis.


Dr. Mark Talary, Director Research

Mark Talary has a BEng/MEng in Electronic Engineering and PhD degree in Biophysics, with an extensive knowledge of the influence of electric fields on biological materials. His previous work in the field of life sciences includes gaining expertise at a bio-tech start-up company in Silicon Valley

 

Hans-Joachim Krebs, Director Development & Manufacturing

Hans-Joachim Krebs has a MEng in Electronic Engineering and a long-standing experience in research and development of medical device technology, e.g. as head of development for digital x-ray systems and sophisticated hospital equipment. Previously he worked with KW+P as a consultant focusing on the coordination of international R&D activities, the optimization of manufacturing processes and the implementation of R&D concepts into final products.

 

Dr. Jelena Klisic, Director Clinical & Regulatory 

Jelena Klisic finished her MSc in Pharmacy at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich and did her PhD in the field of Diabetology/Nephrology, following up with post-doc research in the same area.  She has a wide range of experience in the design, implementation and monitoring of clinical studies, both in the area of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
