Dr. Andreas Bänziger, Chairman of the Board of Directors

Andreas Bänziger graduated from the University of Zurich, Switzerland with a degree in medicine and a post doctorate specialising in orthopaedic surgery FMH. He held several management positions at a leading manufacturer of medical devices in Switzerland, amongst them Executive Vice President for a business unit. From 1999 to 2001 he was CEO of a private Swiss biotech company and in 2002 he became Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of HMT Holding. He was part of the Management Buy-out of the HMT group in 2002 and the merger with the HealthTroncis group in 2004. Dr. Bänziger is Cofounder and partner of MedWork AG and holds several board seats.

Dr. Gerd Meyer, Member of the Board of Directors

Gerd Meyer graduated as Dr. oec. from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. Beginning his career as a lecturer at the University of St. Gallen and the Management Center Europe in Brussels, he worked as a consultant for the Swiss Government and the Swiss Council for Research in Bern. He also was a board member of the Airogroup Corporation, USA. He held various senior positions at Novartis Pharma, Basel, in Project and Product Management, Marketing Research, Trademarks and Strategic Planning. As head of the Prescription and OTC Business Unit in Bern, as Pharma Marketing head in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and as head of Global Partnering for General Medicine and Mature Products at Novartis Pharma in Basel, Switzerland he gathered a wide experience in the life science industry.

Dominik Sauter, Member of the Board of Directors

Dominik Sauter holds a degree in process engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ) and started his career at Ems-Chemie, Domat-Ems. Subsequently, he held various positions at Sauter AG, Sulgen, a family owned company producing and selling sterilization equipment for hospitals, laboratories and pharmaceutical companies. After Sauter AG was sold to Belimed AG,  Zug, he joined the group management team of Belimed in 2000 and was responsible for strategic planning, business development, marketing and the worldwide sales organizations. He left Belimed end of 2008 to head up the EGS Beteiligungen AG, a 100% subsidiary of the Ernst Göhner Stiftung. It invests predominantly into companies residing in Switzerland und assumes an active role for the companies it invests in.

Immanuel Guertler, Member of the Board of Directors

Immanuel Guertler graduated from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland and holds a degree in Business Administration. He owns a project and interim consultancy specialized in restructuring and business development and holds interim senior management positions in finance and operations in telecommunications, IT and the medical device industry in multinational companies in Europe. His assignments include Ascom, BTC Bulgarian Telecommunications Company, Cesky Telecom, SulzerMedica/Centerpulse and Sunrise. Previously he was Head of International Finance Affairs at Swisscom which he joined from Credit Suisse London. At Solianis, he also supports the Management in the area of Business Development.

Mario Stark, Chief Executive Officer

Mario Stark was previously Executive Vice President Marketing & Product Management at Centerpulse Orthopedics. He has worked in the medical device industry in a variety of international positions, gaining expertise in defining marketing strategy, bringing together organizations and managing innovative product lines. He has a wide management experience ranging from Marketing over Process Management, IT, Consulting to Human Resources.

Dr. Andreas Caduff, Chief Technology Officer

Andreas Caduff has a BSc degree in chemistry, an MSc degree in biotechnology and a PhD in biophysics/biosensors. He has been a driving force in the industrial development of non-invasive sensor technology for physiological monitoring, in particular glucose monitoring techniques and involved physiological processes, combining the expertise in various fields relevant to the research and development Solianis.

Dr. Micaela Wochner, Director Sales & Marketing

Micaela Wochner holds a PhD in Chemistry from the Technical University Munich, Germany and has an impressive track record in the commercialization of medical devices. She brings extensive experience from various roles in this industry, e.g. with Roche Diagnostics/Disetronic Medical Systems and Baxter Healthcare SA, where she led international and regional Marketing in Diabetes and Nephrology, launched innovative products and managed several Business Units.

Dr. Mark Talary, Director Research

Mark Talary has a BEng/MEng in Electronic Engineering and PhD degree in Biophysics, with an extensive knowledge of the influence of electric fields on biological materials. His previous work in the field of life sciences includes gaining expertise at a bio-tech start-up company in Silicon Valley.

Hans-Joachim Krebs, Director Development & Manufacturing

Hans-Joachim Krebs has a MEng in Electronic Engineering and a long-standing experience in research and development of medical device technology, e.g. as head of development for digital x-ray systems and sophisticated hospital equipment. Previously he worked with KW+P as a consultant focusing on the coordination of international R&D activities, the optimization of manufacturing processes and the implementation of R&D concepts into final products.

Dr. Jelena Klisic, Director Clinical Studies

Jelena Klisic finished her MSc in Pharmacy at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich and did her PhD in the field of Diabetology/Nephrology, following up with post-doc research in the same area.  She has a wide range of experience in the design, implementation and monitoring of clinical studies, both in the area of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

Dr. Verena Tanner, Director Quality & Regulatory

Verena Tanner holds a PhD in Biology from the Universities Zurich and Bern, Switzerland and an exec. MBA-HSG from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. In her professional career Verena focuses on Regulatory Affairs and Quality Management, where she has a remarkable track record also in leading and managing Quality and Regulatory departments in the medical device industry as well as guiding audits as lead auditor for a notified body.
